Teriyaki Sauce

Ingredients (for 2 cups)

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp fresh grated ginger
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 garlic clove (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons cornflour or cornstarch

Preparation

Heat the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger and water in a saucepan and bring to the boil while stirring.

 

In a cup, dissolve the cornflour iwith a little cold water and add to the saucepan, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.

 

Reduce heat and cook for further 5 minutes. Add more water if necessary to get required consistancy.
