We tried to cover all things to see and do in the Paphos area in this article. We will start from Limassol going to the direction of Paphos and then heading north to the direction of Polis.

Kourion

Kourion

Kourion was a massive ancient city set on a bluff above the sea between Pafos and Limassol. It was flattened by an earthquake in the 4th century, and is only partially-excavated, but what is visible is stunning: market-place, an early-Christian basilica and several private houses with beautiful mosaics. The most dramatic part of it is the amphitheatre overlooking the sea. It is spectacular any time of the year but once you know you come to Cyprus, check out when do they have performance there. Once year in June there is a Shakespeare play. It starts at sunset. The atmosphere is just amazing, once in a lifetime experience!

Pissouri

Pissouri village is set on the hillside along the Paphos - Limassol road. A small, but picturesque village offering a great place to stop and have breakfast. The village square consists basically of a couple of restaurants, tavernas and cafes. The view across the bay and sea are pretty impressive. Every Wednesday night the village square comes alive as the village gather together for a traditional Cypriot evening. The tables and chairs from the restaurants are placed round the square to view and take part in the traditional dancing and enjoy traditional Cypriot fare.
